I'm throwing a surprise 75th birthday/retirement party next year (in May, 2021) for my mom. The colors are black, white, and gold with a Polynesian flair added. I need ideas for decorations and centerpieces. I'm trying to make it budget friendly and hope to make it very special. She's had a very tough life and really deserves this!
Thank you.
Pay much attention to all of this seasons clearance . Party items change every season and go on clearance in stores and online. You can put out alerts on certain products should they go down in price. You can sign up for this site called " Honey". It links to a lot of stores giving you a instant discount instead of waiting for a pay off like "Rakutan" later. All you do go to honey.com sign up using your email only!
You can do so many cool things where you use the food and drinks as the decorations and decor and then eat and drink! For example, pineapple, coconut, strawberries are all colorful and lend themselves to decorating and eating (kabobs, clear bowls filled with colorful arrangements or use the coconut cshell halfs for cups/bowls. You can freeze fruit or colorful edible flowers into ice cubes or in the punch.
balloons are an obvious choice
also Goodwill might be an interesting source of sconces, china, vases, and even crazy curtains and things in those colours
other thrift shops as well
In another post on here I saw a woman used mirrors as centrepieces which is a fantastic idea.
