I have been baking a long time. I just bought a cupcake pan, but it has space for only 6 cup cakes. Now when I make a bowl of batter, obviously it makes enough for around 12 cupcakes.
Fruit is a perfect addition to any basic cake recipe, adding color and tartness. Apples, bananas and all sorts of berries are used inside the cake as well as a pretty topping.
Mix the flour, baking soda and salt together. Beat the sugar and margarine in a mixing bowl until creamy. Add the egg yolks and beat until smooth.
Mix cake ingredients together and place in greased square pan, 8x8 inches. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Mix frosting ingredients together and when cake is cool, frost.
Nuts add another dimension to any sweet cake and are pretty as a decoration. Any nut can be used; pecan, peanuts, almonds and pistachio are popular choices.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 9x13 inch pan. Put all ingredients except raisins, walnuts and powdered sugar or frosting in large bowl.
