Cayenne pepper....keeps not only dogs, but other animals as well away. It does work I've tried it.You may have to continue to use if it gets blown away or watered down, but it does work. Good luck.

Does anyone know of a scent that dogs do not like? I've heard that there are certain scents you can use outdoors to deter deer, etc. Well, I want to know what dogs hate to smell.
