January 12, 2020

Value of a Vintage CorningWare Covered Dish - covered casserole dishI have a 5 qt A-5-B, CorningWare dish. It has the lid and there are no chips. It is from a set of 3 with the spice sayings on front: L' Echolote, La Marjolaine, and Le Romarin. I have only one of these. What is this dish worth?

This is a popular and plentiful pattern!!

The 5 qt size sell regularly from 12.99 to 15.99 dollars on eBay (some with seller paid shipping, some with buyer paid shipping).

This selling price is very consistent and is a SOLD value, not an asking price.

I know there has been a whole bunch of misinformation floating about that these are worth thousands. One story had them pegged in the 7,000 dollar range.

I did a spit take with my coffee on that one. It is (sadly) TOTALLY FALSE!

High sold values on eBay are usually a scam or money laundering or, as a reseller friend just suggested to me over the weekend, that there are dishonest writers/reporters out there who are creating these high sale auctions for common pieces so they can write click-bait articles for the web. That sounds very possible since clicking is money.

Ignore the mis-information and take this as fact. I have been reselling for most of my life and this is the true value of these pieces in today's resell market!

After a person wrote a blog post about CorningWare being worth $7000 or more we have seen tons of posts here on the site asking about how much their item is worth. In reality nobody will pay $7000 for this item because there are still so many of them around.

The real asking price for items like this range from 9 to 35 dollars. Average being around 15 dollars.

Nice! They sell regularly from 7-19 dollars depending on if you have the glass lids and/or storage lids.

There is a lot of misinformation floating about that these are worth thousands. Sadly that is false. High sold values on eBay are usually a scam or money laundering.

There are some blog sites that post these are worth around $7000 or more for each one. This is a bogus price and it is not even possible.

If you check listing online the dishes are selling from $8.99 to $35.

I believe it has now become a game with some sellers but mostly just people who are harboring a 'dream' and have all these listings with ridiculous asking prices.

Here is a link to the same type of dishes that you have so you can see what everyone is talking about. Just do not believe this will happen unless it is a scam or ???

The lovely abundance pattern!

Sold prices on eBay, not asking, are 4.99 to 10.00 each. Some are seller paid shipping, some buyer.

There is some major misinformation on the internet at the moment that Corning pieces are worth thousands. Sales people are seeing on line are fraud going on. Either money laundering, schill bidding, or other after stuff. Some click bait writers are perpetrating these prices as real and getting people all fussed up.

Sad! The values I am sharing are the real prices/values.

Thanks for asking!!

I think everyone right now is interested in finding out if their CorningWare dish can bring in a very high value. I know online there are some blog posts stating that some of these dishes have sold for up to $7000. This is a bit high for the dish and normally the sell for around $16 to $35 depending on the size and the design.

Pghgirl has excellent information but sometimes it helps to see the actual items for sale or sold.
Here is a link to the same type of dish that you have presently listed on eBay. You would have to check for the exact size you have. If you see a dish like you have you can place a watch on the listing to see if it sells.

Here is a link to the actual sold items on eBay which can in some instances mean current value.

These items do sell at decent prices but may not be a fast seller.

I have a Corningware P-1 3/4-B dish that was given to me. I looked up the stamp to age it and it is from around 1966. I was just wanting to see about pricing on this and what I could maybe sell it for.

It has a little wear and tear on the bottom. I looked online and most of the prices on there seemed unrealistic.
