Place diced tomatoes, chiles, jalapeno, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and garlic in a blender or food processor, blend until smooth, season with salt and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow flavors to blend before serving.

Make this delicious fresh salsa from bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, avocados, and spices. Use as you would any salsa on tacos, burritos, chips, etc.
You can make some delicious salsa even when you don't have fresh tomatoes available. This is a page about making salsa using canned tomatoes.

I would like to make and can homemade salsa without it being too spicy and with no jalapenos. I need a recipe with red and green peppers, onions, and fresh tomatoes, just no jalapenos.

Hello-
I'm a pepper or hot stuff wimp that does not even like table black pepper on anything.
Just use any normal recipe WITH JALAPENOS but remove all pepper seeds and white membrane from the peppers before you corse chop them to add to your other ingredients. Make sure you wear plastic gloves while handleing the peppers.
Although many salsa recipes include cilantro, you can make delicious salsa without this pungent herb. This page contains salsa recipes without cilantro.
I am looking for the recipe for a really good authentic salsa like they serve in the real Mexican restaurants. Thanks so much.
My family has been making this great canned homemade salsa for years. I think it's just like the ones they serve at restaurants.
There are different kinds of salsas restaurants serve (salsa cruda, salsa fresca, pico de gallo, salsa verde). Can you be more specific of what you're looking for?
The salsa I've always had at Mexican restaurants is a very fresh pico de gallo, which is extremely simple to make. Fresh tomatoes, a little chopped onion (I like to use sweet onion), a little or a lot of fresh cilantro, and freshly squeezed lime juice.
My home health aide is from Mexico & they cook salsa in Mexico. Tomatoes, onions, jalepanoes, cilantro (not cooked). I'll have to get her recipe & post later. Their salsa is nothing like American salsa.
This salsa has a very fresh flavor. You can use canned, from the store tomatoes or fresh, which in my opinion, is always best!
To make this recipe even easier you can use canned diced jalapenos to taste. However freshly roasting them brings out a smoky, almost sweet flavor.
