Removing a Wart

April 23, 2012

removing a wartMany years ago I read somewhere about using a Vitamin C tablet and water to remove a wart. I had a wart frozen from my wrist, and years later it came back. I tried the Vitamin C tablet and water and the wart disappeared. Use enough water on the Vitamin C tablet to make a paste. Apply the paste on the wart, cover with a bandaid, and leave it alone. Re-apply as needed and in a week or so the wart will be gone.

I just read an archived post on homemade wart remedies. A lot of suggestions were offered. Surgery, plant extracts, duct tape, even rubbing a penny on the wart.

I have a wart that keeps coming back on my thumb. It takes months to get rid of, it will be gone for a couple years, and then it comes back in the exact same spot. Does anyone know the cause of this and/or how I can stop it for good?

Try putting lemon juice (bottled real lemon juice works too) on the wart a couple times a day until it clears up. My son had gone to the doctor for 1 1/2 year to treat one and within a few days putting lemon juice on it was all cleared up.

I've had this wart on my left knee for some time now. I've gone to the doctor to have him freeze it, but it didn't work. I've tried duct tape and Compound W, not to mention everything in between. I even tried the Freeze Away at home stuff. Nothing works! How do I get rid of it? I can't go to the doctor anymore because they've frozen it so much and they won't help me. Please help!

I looked up some FAQ's at www.webmd.com and this link will help.

I never knew that one wart can be the mother of all the rest, or that they are contagious. So, check it out and see if this helps.

I have a seed wart on my foot, right below the ball of the big toe. I need to get ride of it. I tried picking it off, but it didn't work. And now it is split open. I don't like how it feels. And I'm scared that if I try touching it with any other part of my body that there will be more.

After the seed wart is open, put iodine on it so it seeps down into the wart. You will be able to see the iodine going dow into it. Appy the iodine several times if need be. The wart will eventually disappear. This worked for me. Hope this helps.

You could use a pumice on warts to remove them but over time they will grow back. You could try some over the counter products at the pharmacy. Best bet to remove them permanently is have have a dermatologist remove them with liquid nitrogen.

They do this in their office and only takes a minute or two.

I have a wart growing just below my left lower eyelid. I'd like to find a way to get rid of it naturally, but with it being so close to my eye, I'm a bit worried. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Please go to a dermatologist to have it removed. If you have insurance it will probably not be too expensive. Don't take chances with you face and around your eyes.

Your sight is too precious to be risking home/self remedies for something so close to your eyes so please go to your doctor. Even if you can't afford it all at once they will make payment arrangements with you.

I don't think there is a "natural" way to remove a wart. I would not use the over the counter remedies for something so close to your eye. You should consult a doctor. I have heard that duct tape(the silver kind) placed over a wart for a couple of weeks will kill the wart.

I have not tried this myself, so couldn't say if it worked or not, or if it had the same success rate as swinging a dead cat around your head three times, but it is sort of natural, and is something you could try if you are patient.

I had exactly the same problem a few years ago. Developed a wart less than a half inch from the inner corner of my eye. Since over-the-counter remedies cannot be used near the eyes, I went online and Googled wart remedies. I kept seeing people talk about vinegar, cotton, and duct tape. I bought some Q-Tips, pulled a bit off of one, wet it with vinegar (squeezing the excess vinegar out of it), placed it on the wart (being very careful not to get vinegar in my eye), and placed a piece of clear duct tape over it.

It took two-three weeks to work, and I probably looked a bit strange to the folks I worked with, but it totally got rid of the wart. Not even a scar, and it has never come back. It might work just using the tape and no vinegar, too, but I'm not sure. Good luck.

You may recall a few years ago it was reported in the media that using duct tape on a wart for 2 weeks would remove the wart. Why not try it and report the results on thriftyfun.

I am 17 years old. Recently when I went and stayed with my best friend I noticed that I started getting a wart on my big toe. So of course I picked at it. She is the only person I've been around that has warts, but she said hers were "viral". I want to get rid of them. Help me, please.
