I have a Craftsman LT2000, model 31C707 riding mower and it cranks and runs, but has but very little power. It will move forward and backward, but does not have power enough to mow the grass. Is this evidence of a burnt valve or what?
Thanks for your help in solving this problem!
Check battery and spark plugs. You are getting some power, but it seems weak. Be sure to check filter for being clogged or dirty!
If you are lacking the power to the motor of the machine it normally indicates that your spark plugs are bad, bad battery, or even a clogged carburetor.
I have a Craftsman lt2000 mower. I jammed the deck up against a tree trunk. After backing up and engaging the mower it kills the engine.
I have a 2010 Craftsman LT2000 riding mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine. It will not start. When I turn the ignition it either clicks a bunch of times or spins once or twice, but doesn't turn over. I replaced the spark plug, adjusted the valves, got a new battery, and it still won't start.
I did notice that it is slowly leaking gas somewhere (will not hold it in the tank over night). I'm guessing my problem is either the starter solenoid, the starter motor, or a clogged carburetor. Any suggestions?I have a Craftsman LT2000 riding Mower. I was mowing the yard the other day, dis-engaged the blade to go in reverse, then put it in drive and re-engaged the blade deck. When I did this, the engine shut off and will not re-start. When I tried to re-start it at first, it ran for a few seconds and died out and will now not start up. It turns over and over, but will not fire up.
I bought a new plug, new air filter, checked the carb and the solenoid, seat and plunger, all seems to be working good. It seems to have stopped running when I engaged the blade to keep mowing. It is getting fuel to the carb, and the engine is cranking over, but won't start.
Anyone have any ideas? I may smell a little fuel in the oil - could that be the issue? I have attached some pics to this post.
There should be no fuel in the oil. You might have a leak somewhere.
I have a 2013 lt 2000 Craftsman riding mower. I've changed the solenoid, the starter, and the battery, to no avail. It only clicks rapidly at the solenoid.
I tried to jump the mower right at the starter and it will not turn over at all. It just sparks. Any ideas please? You'll need to check the wiring chassis at the side of the mower. If it is sparking there is a short in one of the wires.
I have got a Craftsman LT 2000. I tried to start it, but it won't even turn over. Is it a blade engagement issue?
I mowed the lawn with a Craftsman Lt 2000 and hit stump. Then it stalled. It started right back up and I finished mowing and turned it off. Now it won't start.
I have turned the key and nothing happens...no sound, no movement. I replaced the solenoid, seat switch, and ignition switch. The fuse looks good. I'm stumped!I have a Craftsman LT2000 mower. Why is oil shooting into my carburetor?
More than likely you have a crack in your manifold that is causing this to happen. This could be a gasket problem or a problem with one of the hoses on your lawnmower. You need to check the engine of the mower and find out where the oil is coming from. Check all your hoses and make sure they are not broken.
I have a Craftsman Lt2000 model 247280904 that will not get gas to the cylinder though, it does turn over. I have a new starter and battery, but when you go to start all it wants to do is crank and spin, but not start. I have checked all the gas lines. The carburetor is cleaned and it's getting spark and combustion. Any help would be appreciated!

I had the exact same issue on a 17 HP Kohler. After scratching my head for a couple hours, I just happened to notice the gas tank looked like it was under pressure. I took the gas cap off and the tank released the pressure and it fired right up. I put the cap back on and it stalled out after about a minute.
I have a Craftsman LT2000 that will crank, but not turn over. The engine is an Intek 19.5 hp Briggs and Stratton. The model is 31P677 0804 B1. I have spark, I changed out the fuel solenoid and grounded it to the block with the key on and it moves in and out. I've taken off the flywheel and the key is in place. The gap between the flywheel and ignition thing is gapped correctly. It has a new plug and fuel filter. I am getting fuel to the carb when I put gas in the cylinder it will backfire once.

My mower has been running with no problem. I stopped to get a drink and it would not restart. It turns over fine, but just never catches. Also, I noticed that it will intermittently backfire. The spark plug is fine and it is getting gas through the filter. Any ideas?
Much appreciated.
My mower was running normally when smoke started to come out of engine. Now it won't crank over. All fluid levels are full and normal.
My LT 2000 Craftsman lawn tractor won't start unless you spin it over with your hand a few turns. Then it will start, but not all the time. The starter is good. What could be problem?
There is a switch under the seat. You can try disconnecting it and reconnecting it.
