I have a beautiful calico cat who loves to eat the strangest things. When she got into my curling ribbon and couldn't cough it up, a trip to the vet was necessary. They had to do surgery to remove the ribbon. It won't pass, but cause a blockage. I now have to keep all ribbon (even bows) in a sealed container. I can't even put bows on Christmas packages until the day they are distributed or she will eat them also. They not only removed the ribbon but lots of strange things. We now vacuum every day to make sure there are no little tidbits that she might eat.
