One of the banes of my existence always has been forgetting key items and taking multiple trips back to the house from the car when on my way somewhere - usually making me late in the process.
Call around for prices on boxes and special wrap for dishes. If you use newspaper on your kitchen dishes you will have no choice but to wash them before they are put away.
To keep broccoli fresh longer, trim the bottom of broccoli. Place the bottom in bowl of water, and put it in the refrigerator. This keeps it firm until I use it. It works for me, and I love broccoli.
