I rescued Isaac a year and a half ago. We have bonded in a way that I have never experienced with an animal before. He is gentle, loving, and very devoted. Isaac loves to give a paw and nudge you when he wants to be petted. He also loves to roll around and sleep in piles of leaves!

Paco (Poodle-Bichon-Mix)My 16 year old son went to El Salvador and very excitedly told me he was bringing back a dog from San Salvador. I told him no way! I'm not a dog person.' Then I saw his photo and I fell in love instantly. Of course Paco is now my dog, my little 25 pound angel, who has rescued me (not the other way!). I can't even imagine life without him. He has truly saved my life.

Skipper (Groenendael)I got Skipper as a little 8 week old puppy from Beljekali Kennels Australia. Skipper loves to receive cuddles from my elderly disabled mum who lives with us and have his head scratched just below his ears. He enjoys daily walks to the park and along the beach, paddling in the water and chasing the many seagulls each morning.

Bellamy (Black Mackeral Tabby Cat)She chose us 2 years ago at the county animal shelter. She likes to sleep in her 'nest' and look out the windows at all of the outside critters. She loves 'stinky food', which is canned treats. Bellamy is the best cat.

Suzie (Long Haired Dachshund)5 years ago those big brown eyes looked at me through the bars of her cage at PAWS in Seattle. I really needed a friendly, easy going dog to keep me company. She loves to walk through tall grasses and sit under leafy plants. In the summer she spent happy times sitting just where you see her and squirrel spotting.

Ava (Chihuahua/Pit Bull Mix)I was given Ava when she was 1 year old by my niece as she was going to take her to the pound if she couldn't find her a home. None of her other dogs could get along with Ava. Ava doesn't like to eat from a bowl. She picks up her bowl with food in it and walks across the room emptying her bowl as she walks, then she eats her food from the floor.

Ivy (Maltese - Shih Tzu Mix)One of our pets died and I got a puppy for companionship for the one dog we had left. Ivy is now four years old and one happy little girl. Ivy loves to play fetch with her squeaky and stuffy toys. She and our older dog play chase together running around the sofa.

Mist and Smoke (Manx)I found Smoke and Mist abandoned at a gas station. I fed them leftovers for a week and got them in a carrier. Mist turned out to be a Manx I think with no tail only a nub. Smoke is a Manx with a long tail. It is longer than other cats. Could they be brothers?

If I bring home bags of shopping & there is a toy in there for her, that I haven't even told her about - she will immediately sit up (I call it Sitting Pretty) with her 2 front paws up, and do an excited whimper! It's as if she's saying, "Look Mummy! I'm sitting pretty! Can I have my toy now?" ''
